About Us

Under the Son Weekday Preschool is a half-day, faith-based program for ages 2 – 5 open from 8:30 am – 12:20 pm Monday – Thursday.

Our mission:  Reaching out to share the love of Christ with families in Brunswick County.

Our program is designed to provide an opportunity for children to develop social and interpersonal skills in a Christian Environment.  Much of the students’ learning involves social interaction with peers.  The goal is that they will learn to get along with other children and teachers while developing good relationships, caring attitudes, and an eagerness to help others.

Our staff will begin to prepare them for Kindergarten using a variety of methods:

  • Teachers will stimulate cognitive development through daily lesson plans to help our preschool children gain basic competencies. (Repetition of these skills will help them find confidence as they go on to Kindergarten.)
  • Centers, crafts, singing, etc. will be used to accomplish Fine Motor Skills.
  • Gross Motor Skills will be developed through playtime (both inside and out).

As a plus to our program, we see a need for children to become aware of God’s love and how He cares for them.  Through a Christian atmosphere we seek to guide the children through God’s Word and model Christian qualities that will help them as they grow such as grace and forgiveness.
